Getting in touch

How can I get in touch with you?

Please click on 'Contact Bahá’í Books UK' in the website footer (under the heading 'More Info'). This will open up a form which you can fill in and send off to us.

Finding material on the website

How do I find material in Persian or Arabic?

Material in Persian or Arabic can be found in three ways:

  1. From the main menu, go to 'Persian and Arabic literature' and select either Persian literature or Arabic literature.
  2. In the search bar, type either L_persian or L_arabic (and, optionally, anything else you are searching for)
  3. From the search results, use the Language filter

How do I find Ruhi material?

You can find Ruhi material in the following places:

- in the Study Circles menu on the home page

- by looking for a specific book in the search bar (type for instance Ruhi book 1 or RUHI01)

To place orders for Ruhi material, click on the button corresponding to your region from any product page. See also here for more information.

I'm looking for a specific edition of a book and I'm sure you have it on the website; why isn't it appearing in the search results?

To keep the search results from becoming too cluttered, editions that are similar won't all appear in the search results. If you are looking for a different edition, try navigating to the most similar edition, and look for the 'editions' menu below the product title. (For instance, we have several editions of Bahá’í prayer books but not all of them appear in the search results. If the one you see in the search results isn't the one you were hoping to find, go to a product page for a prayer book which you can find, and then look through the editions menu.)

Do you have some search hacks for me?

Sure!

  • Subject matter: you can search through material that has been manually tagged by using the underscore (_). Try searching for _fast, _death, _prayer_education_history_bio (for biographies). If you find any other useful ones, let us know and we'll add them to this list ;-)
  • Format: you can search through material that has been manually tagged by using the underscore (_). Try searching for _cd_dvd_leaflet_small (booklets). If you find any other useful ones, let us know!
  • Scripture: you can search using a fragment of SKU. For instance, DEV-BAB will find devotional material containing Prayers by the Báb, and SCR-BAB will find books containing Writings by the Báb. Try also SCR-BAH, DEV-BAH; SCR-GUA; DEV-ABD, SCR-ABD; DEV-MIX, SCR-MIX (for Writings by several of the Central Figures); or DEV-SEL (for devotional material containing selections of Writings).
  • Ruhi material: you can search using a fragment of SKU. 'PU' stands for 'published' and 'PP' stands for pre-published, and 'M' stands for 'main sequence', and 'J' stands for 'Junior Youth material'. So you can find pre-published material for Junior Youth by looking for RUH-JPP, and published Ruhi material by looking for RUH-MPU. Try also RUH-MPP, and RUH-JPU

Why doesn't this author/illustrator/contributor have their own collection?

We usually only create a collection when we have more than one item by a particular author/illustrator/contributor, so the most likely answer is that we currently only have one item on site by that particular author/illustrator/contributor. We don't have everything!

It's always possible that we've made a mistake, or not gotten to creating that particular collection yet. Feel free to drop us a note if you think it might have been an oversight ;-)

Downloads

Can I choose where to save the download files?

Yes. Right-click on one of the download buttons and select 'save as'. This will open up a menu where you can select at which location you want to save the file.

How do I find material which is available for free online or for download?

Material which is free to read online has this icon:  Free online thumbnail

Material which has a free download version available has this icon: Free download thumbnail

Material which has a free audio version available has this icon: Spoken word thumbnail

You can also use the 'Digital versions' filter from the search results page.

Do you host the files which are available for download?

No. We only point to existing links on other sites. Most of our digital links point to the Bahá’í Reference Library or Bahá’í eBook Publications.

The download link is broken. What do I do?

Sorry about that. Get in touch to let us know and we'll fix it as soon as we can.

How can I order Ruhi material?

Please refer to this page for information about how to order Ruhi material.

I'm sending books within the UK; can I pay for part of my order?

Ruhi material is fully subsidised within the UK. If you really wish to cover all of the costs, select the 'I'd like to pay' payment option from the ordering form. If you want to cover part of the costs, select the 'Default (free)' payment option and leave a note under 'Intended Use and Questions to Institute Board' specifying exactly how much you wish to pay.

I'm sending books within the UK; I'd like to get the books for free, but pay for the faster shipping. Is that possible?

Ruhi material is fully subsidised within the UK; this includes normal (cheap, non-tracked) postage. If you wish to pay for more expensive postage (whilst still receiving the subsidised books), select the 'Default (free)' payment option and leave a note under 'Intended Use and Questions to Institute Board' specifying that you wish to pay for the more expensive, tracked postage. Note that in this case, you will need to pay for the postage in full.

Should the Ruhi books be studied in order?

There have been a few queries to the training institute board for England about studying the sequence of books in order, and the board has consulted on the following statement: "Friends are encouraged to move through the sequence in order, as there is a logic to the concepts and the experience gained through study and service, and to turn to their coordinator when they have questions. However, there will be times when there are compelling reasons to study materials out of sequence, and such action would naturally arise from a consultation with their coordinator. It is also recognised that for some believers who have not completed Books 1 to 7, they may be encouraged to re-engage with the sequence from Book 8. As well as strengthening the study of institute materials by participants, this step will also strengthen the development of the cadre of tutors and how they are accompanied by coordinators. It will enable the needs of each cluster to be better understood and therefore better met by the Institutions."

For any questions about this, please contact the Training Institute Boards (you can do so by clicking on the 'Email' button on this page).
